GLiTCH is the study association for CMGT students from the Hanze with a special interest in gaming. With the rapid growth of the Game Design major it became necessary to have an organization which exclusively focuses on the well-being of those students.

A study association is an organization which provides additional study-related activities outside of the curriculum.
It is completely run by students of that study and employs a structure which revolves around different committees.

GLiTCH is the study association for CMGT students from the Hanze with a special interest in gaming.
With the rapid growth of the Game Design major it became necessary to have an organization which exclusively focuses on the well-being of those students.

GLiTCH offers a wide plethora of educational and social events and the framework to organize them. Because all of our activities are conceived and managed by students, they are always up to date with the wishes of the member base.

Additionally, GLiTCH has a growing network of partners and sponsors who provide us with exclusive deals and discounts. For example, in August of 2019 we received a 50% discount of Gamescom trade tickets. With this, our trips abroad committee organized a wonderful visit to Cologne for a great price.

The daily functioning of the association comprises of two distinct entities – the committees and the sitting board.

We have numerous committees which handle the low-level organization of the activities and are separate from each other. These are formed out of enthusiastic students by the sitting board.

The board is an elected body of the most driven members willing to spend a lot of their time making sure the association has fresh opportunities, sufficient finances, and a strong structure.

We organize many workshops about art, programming, business, and other topics which the members find interesting. In addition to those, GLiTCH hosts regular game jams, testing and networking events, and visits to game companies.

At its core, a membership supports the work of the sitting board and the committees to organize activities. As a non-profit organization, every euro goes into the events members like.

Secondly, a membership will grant you access to member-only events and discounts on a variety of things.

Anyone! We focus however on CMGT and Hanze Students and thus only the members who are part of our faculty can vote on decisions within the association.

No, memberships are not transferable.

There are many rules for the board and the committees.
General members are just required to follow our core values of transparency, openness, and inclusivity. Our house rules are the ultimate document regarding the functioning of the association.

Yes, you’re always able to cancel your membership. Unfortunately, it is non-refundable.

Your membership expires at the end of August and must be renewed when the new study year starts (September).

If you haven’t specified otherwise, it’s an automatic process! Due to the many payment methods, contact treasury@sa-glitch.nl if you need to make sure you’re in the automated system.

Committees are units of 2 to 6 students which handle the low-level organization of events. They’re the main driving force behind each event.

  • Marketing Committee
  • Design Committee
  • GLiTCHtv (Streaming Committee)
  • Social Events Committee
  • Education Committee
  • Intro Week Committee
  • Nomination Committee

A new committee may be assembled for a single event, or permanently during a general members assembly.

As a committee member, you are expected to aid in the activities of your committee. You have to communicate with the other members, make decisions and, most importantly, focus on making something really cool.

Hours-wise, do not look at more than two hours per week. Once a month, you will be summoned to an activities meeting, along with all other active members of the association, to discuss possible committee collaborations, the experiences from different events, and to solve potential problems.

Anyone who is involved with the CMGT program at the Hanze UAS and a GLiTCH Member.

Around October, we will announce that we’re recruiting members for all the committees.
At that point you will be able to sign-up for an interview. If that goes well, you will be added to a committee you’re interested in.

If you’re looking to join one after October, talk to the head of internal relations (or send them an email at internal@sa-glitch.nl) and they’ll let you know if there’s free spots.

Next to your membership, nothing more!

You inform the head of your committee and the head of internal relations (internal@sa-glitch.nl

As we’re a non-profit, you will be a volunteer worker. Your skills and contribution will definitely be recognized at the end of the year!

Also you will be privy to certain secret bonuses within the association.
